Destination Shopping...Take a Drive and Have Some Fun

The CXO !.

Today we took a drive with the family and headed due West about an hour to Westport and a neighbouring town called Newboro.  Don't blink or you might miss Newboro but boy o' boy if you have some cash burning a hole in your pocket, there are some great little (not so little) hideaways that are lots of fun.  I would suggest starting off in Newboro at Kilborn's where they have literally bought 4 or 5 houses next to each other and renovated to make THE greatest shopping destination.  You can find everything from Thomasville furniture to kids toys, cheese, clothing, shoes, decorations and everything in between.  There is something here for all ages.  If you love name brands, you will love this place!

If you have any money left, stop in Westport on the way back and grab an ice cream cone at  Cedar Bridge Ice Cream and take a walk around.  There are wonderful stores here including Life Is Good and The Village Green.  The Village Green has a little something for everyone at all price points.  Good luck walking out of here without buying something....

Walking two blocks away will bring you down to the waterfront where there are sure to be some nice boats parked for the day.  This is a great picnic spot or if you prefer there are MANY Rideau Canal Lock Stations in the area (including Newboro) with great Provincially run picnic areas.
